He does plan to share his fortune with his family, including his brother-in-law, Jarmo Lokko, who drove him to the Toronto prize centre to pick up his winnings.

Lottery Winner Doris Murray Murdered By Boyfriend Derrick Lorenzo Stanley

Ihsan Khan - Urdu-Pushto-Speaking Pakistani Taxi Driver Kept Fortune Cookie

Ihsan Khan, an Urdu-Pushto-speaking Pakistani taxi driver, emigrated from Pakistan to the United States in 1977. He often slept in his cab, but one thing that always gave him hope was a fortune cookie message that he kept; it said, "Among winners, you are the chosen one." The fortune was right; he was chosen to win $55.2 million in the lottery in November, 2001.

Ihsan was living in Washington, DC at the time of his win, but ended up moving back to his hometown of Batagram in Pakistan. There, he was elected nazim, the equivalent of a mayor. He was outspoken and a big critic of the government and army.

Following a major earthquake in 2005, his hometown of Batagram was left in ruins. 4500 people died in the earthquake (the quake killed 87,000 people altogether). He used his own money to help rebuild the town. Ihsan Khan was considered a local hero.

Fantasy 5 is a 5/36 lottery from Florida Lottery. Matching 5 out of 5 numbers wins the jackpot. However, the game is unique in that if nobody wins the jackpot, the jackpot amount gets rolled down and split amongst the 4-out-of-5 and 3-ou-of-5 winners, which is pretty cool because the secondary prizes become bigger.

Do you think it would feel good to win the lottery? Kimberly Peavy says that "winning the lottery feels wonderful." How would she know? Kimberly won $2.5 million in Georgia Lottery's Millionaire Jumbo Bucks scratch game in January of 2009.

Peavy bought the ticket at a gas station in Columbus, Georgia, scratched it in the car, and discovered that it was a winner.

Diana Valencia's Luck Has Not Been Good Lately

Prior to winning the lottery, Diana Valencia said "my luck hasn't been good lately." So when she walked into Allsup's store in Post, Texas to buy a scratch lotto ticket, she asked the clerk to choose one for her. The clerk first chose a scratch Bingo ticket. Diana didn't like the looks of it and asked him to choose another. He then handed her a Weekly Grand scratch ticket, and whadaya know? Diana won the jackpot, $1000/week for 20 years. So, does that make her lucky or is the store clerk lucky? Who knows?

Other than moving into a bigger apartment, Valencia is planning on putting others ahead of herself, especially her parents and grandchildren. Her parents are in their 80's and she wants to help them with their medication expenses. She also wants to make sure that her grandchildren's necessities are taken care of.

Diana is a training coordinator at a juvenile facility and plans to keep working. She says that she and her co-workers are a close-knit group.

Lottery Winner William Bud Post Went Bankrupt

Do you ever, in your wildest dreams, think you may end up bankrupt after winning a $16.2 million lottery jackpot? It does happen and it happened to William "Bud" Post. Post won the jackpot way back in 1988 and that's when his troubles began. Consider the following problems that he had:

Anthony McGrath - Karma And The Luck Of The Irish Helps Him Win Lottery

David C. Fort Thanks God He Won The Lottery

Do you ever pray to God that you will win the lottery? Do you really think that God has anything to do with it? David C. Fort does. David says that when he found out he won the lottery, he got down on his knees and thanked God.

David C. Fort is a 55 year old man from Albuquerque, New Mexico and won the $5.6 million Hot Lotto jackpot from the New Mexico Lottery in February of 2008.

Fort plans to share his windfall with his family. His first piece of business was to buy a new home for his and his wife's mothers and to take the family on a cruise in Alaska.

Prior to his big win, David C. Fort worked as a finance manager at Galles Chevrolet in Albuqueque, New Mexico. No word yet on whether he still works there. If I were him, I'd just retire.

Erik Martineau Struck By Lightning, I Mean Wins Lottery Twice In One Month

Do you think you might get struck by lightning? What are the odds? Actually, 1 in 3000 according to the national weather service. What about getting struck by lightning twice? Oh, about 1 in 9 million. What about wining the lottery twice? I don't know; try asking Erik Martineau. He won two top prizes in a Connecticut scratch lottery game... in less than a month.

Lindsey Iskierka Wins $1 Million Minnesota Millionaire Raffle Prize

'Sweetheart' Linda McLaughlin Wins Florida's $600 Million High Roller Lottery

MegaMillions Winner Mark Staffa Loves Lego

If you love to build with Lego, would you want to visit Denmark, the country where Lego was created? Maybe not. But what if you had just won the Georgia Lottery MegaMillions jackpot of $42 million? Well then, perhaps.

John Rese - Retired Truck Driver From Wasaga Beach Wins Lottery

John Rese had been retired from his truck driving job for eight years when he won the Lotto 6/49 jackpot of $9.4 million on November 8, 2008 from OLG (Ontario Lottery & Gaming). Rese is from Wasaga Beach, an hour and a half north of Toronto.
