Now that she's $22 million richer, Janet Alnwick wants some very nice things, namely a Grey, fully loaded Corvette convertible to drive around town with the top down and, also, many more vacations, namely trips to Aruba and Sanibel Island (An island just off the west coast of Florida). Janet really knows how to enjoy her money!Janet Alnwick won $22 million in the January 13, 2009 Mega Millions draw. The funny thing was that she only spent $2-$3month on the lottery and never ever expected to win. That just goes to show, you don't need to play hundreds of dollars a month worth to win; you just need some luck on your side and I'm sure Janet knows all about luck, especially since the odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1-in-175 million.
At the time of her win, Janet Alnwick was 52 years old and living in Merrick, New York. She was a caretaker and, prior to that, made her living as a salesperson. Maybe she'll retire now that she's so rich.
Oh, and back to Janet knowing how to enjoy her money... After she claimed her winnings she spent the night enjoying Manhattan with her mother and brother. They stayed at The Marriott Marquis, lived it up with room service, and caught a Broadway show; they watched Jersey Boys.
