Hollywood was an NFL player and played football as a linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys from 1975 to 1979. He even played in three Superbowl games. But he was cut from the team because of alcohol and drug problems. The drugs and alcohol took a toll. In 1983, Thomas was arrested after he threatened a teenage girl with a gun, held her against her will, and sexually assaulted her. For that, he spent 28 months in jail. It was the low point of his life and he didn't have much will to go on.

But Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson persevered. He turned his life around. He quit alcohol and drugs. He gave back to the community, even going as far as buying the land that his old high school used to be (it was torn down and turned into a parking lot) and building a football field for the community on it.

The he won the lottery. In March of 2000, Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson won $28 million from Texas Lottery. Wow!

Hollywood wasn't the only pro sports player to win it big in the lottery. Greek soccer player Kleopas Giannou also won more than a million dollars playing the lottery.
